Team Accomplishments -2015/2016

Optionals:

Level 6-9 Optional Team

LEVEL 6 & 7

The Level 6/7 team has done really well this past season. Rell Haywood, Nora Brown, and Annie Perez really had to step up their game coming into optionals after a long Level 5 season with little time to rest. We’re so proud of Rell and Nora for making it to States. Great job to Annie for making it all the way to the Regional Championships in Arizona where she placed second on vault!

LEVEL 8 & 9

Congratulations to the Level 8/9s on a very productive season. Ashley McLay, Level 8, competed a tsukara vault for the first time! Maya Sampson, Level 8, qualified to Regionals in Las Vegas as a first year Level 8 where she scored a 9.050 on Floor. Our Level 9, Jasmine Casey, did great this season, winning Floor at the Novato Classic and placing second on Vault.

 XCEL

Our XCEL Gold and Diamond Teams ended their season with a trip to Chandler, AZ for Regional Championships. This year, we had two girls qualifying for State Team. Qualifying for State Team is difficult with only the very top girls from all sessions at the State Meet being chosen to represent NorCal in the Team Competition at Regionals. Congratulations to Lauren Ellis (gold) and Jenna Bac (diamond) for this prestigious honor.
Highlights from the end of the season include; (XCEL Gold) Lauren Ellis is Vault and Floor State Champion! Perry Otto scored a 9.025 on floor and her personal best all-around at Regionals. Hailey Weingord scored a 9.350 on floor at Spirit of the Flame. Coral Maxiner is Bars State Champion with a 9.7! (XCEL Diamond) Emma Bargetto placed second on floor (9.575), third on beam and fourth AA at Regional Championships. Senior, Jenna Bac, defended her State and Regional Floor Title on Floor with a huge 9.7! Great job XCEL girls!
A special congratulations to Senior, Jenna Bac. Thank you for representing SCGC so well all these years. We wish you the best of luck next year at UCLA! We’ll miss you.
